I went to pond A16 in Alviso this afternoon right before the rain. On island 17, third new island, there appeared to be three Glaucous Gulls, all imm. One was big and pure white from all angles but wouldn't show its bill. One was big and white with the glaucous bill and had some limited grayish or tannish in the wing but wingtips were white. These two were in the middle of the island. Later I noticed the third bird at the south end of the island. It was big and white with the glaucous bill. I'd bet Noah Arthur's Iceland Gull was also on the island. Four male Blue-winged Teal were in the slough. Many sterna artificialis have arrived on the islands.
