Subject: Ospreys, kestrals and wood ducks, Kanawha County
On this first day of Spring, many thanks to Rick Gregg for scheduling not one but two ospreys over Marmet Locks -- both put on aerial displays of hovering and diving. Best explosion goes to a woodcock. Most handsome pair was tied by the kestrels (accompanied by the Jay family) and the wood ducks (chaperoned by four male gadwalls). Largest numbers go to the robins. And always a pleasure to see redwings, song sparrows, herons, a killdeer, yellow rumped, grackles, and of course, crows and canada geese. Thanks for a great spring tour.
