Subject: IBET Black-and-white Warbler at Mermet Lake
While birding around Mermet Lake today, I stopped to spish out a flock of
songbirds on the east side of the lake and was amongst the Yellow-rumps,
White-throats, Carolina Chickadees, and a Winter Wren, etc., I was
surprised to find a 'female-plumaged' Black-and-White Warbler. It seems
more likely to be a very early migrant than an over-wintering bird, but
that is rather speculative. A nice bird for March anyway!
