A 2.5 hr. sea watch ensued after noticing a Parasitic Jaeger chasing a tern and Laughing Gulls and others moving into the north wind in small groups. I would anticipate some gull turnover at Daytona.
Highlights included 41 Caspian Terns, over 500 Laughing Gulls and a few LBBG and GBBG's and 3 Parasitic Jaegers (each time attcking lone Caspians). The most interesting bird was an apparent LBBG x HEGU hybrid, flying with an adult LBBG.It had similar structure and size, but lighter mantle and despite looking adult-like on the upper parts and lacking pale inner primaries, it had a white rump and dark, wide tail band that went all the way to the tip. It must have been a 3rd-cycle hybrid.
