Subject: [ia-bird] sandhill cranes
Approximately 100 sandhill cranes in the first field SW of New Albin in Allamakee County right along highway 26 just before sunset. There were also 12 on the Pool Slough WMA and they were doing some dancing. Tens of thousands mallards flying up the Upper Iowa River and field feeding in floodplain crop fields--quite the spectacle along the first couple miles of Iowa River Drive off 26.
