Subject: [Ohio-birds] Common Loon and Hooded Mergansers and MORE at Coe Lake, Berea
The common loon is still at Coe Lake. It is in the far south section along with five greater scaups.
A northern shoveler flew in when I was walking in that area, too. It seemed to have a difficult time negotiating the ice.
The hooded mergansers are all the way in the back the southeast corner. There were four of them. Two males and two females.
Close to the gazebo in the main lake were three horned grebes. One had a lot of its full breeding plumage.
There were four American black ducks in with the mallards.
Two herring gulls were making a lot of noise.
I had a Cooper's hawk fly by as I was walking through the parking lot.
