Subject: [ia-bird] many ducks and geese
A tour around Clear Lake found the water mostly frozen and only a handful of
geese and ducks about, however in every pond and puddle south of the lake
and where there are open spaces without snow in corn stubble there are
thousands of ducks and geese waiting to go north again! Twenty-two species
of waterfowl including at least 40 Tundra swans were seen. A few Ross' were
with the smaller numbers of Snows, predominantly there were White-fronted
Geese everywhere. At one spot Canada Geese were lined up along the creek
for a quarter of a mile or more, just to be by water and maybe food.

Some small flocks of Robins, a few Laplands, and strings of blackbirds made
the 36 degree weather really nice !!!
