Subject: [JERSEYBI] Fox Sparrows , etc.
In the excellent atlas and reference, "Birds of New Jersey" (Walsh,Kane ,
Elia,& Halliwell)1999 the Spring entry for Fox Sparrow implies mid to late
March is when the heaviest northern movement of this species begins.It goes
further to suggest most are long gone by Aprilish.

A few years back under these same conditions(snow mid March) I counted 31
individuals along Whitebridge and Pleasent Plns. Rd. in the GSNWR after the
plows had come through. The conditions may contribute to the gang of
sightings. Nice ofcourse...
