Hello All,

Laura and I Snowshoed on Mary's Peak today. We were able to drive to within 3 miles of the top, just below Parker Creek Falls before the snowy road became impassable for 2WD. Birding was slow, but it was a gorgeous day to be on the mountain. Best birds were 30 EVENING GROSBEAK seen near the upper campground. A single ROBIN at the summit was the only bird seen above the summit parking area. Here's our complete list for the day:

Hairy Woodpecker - 1
Pileated Woodpecker - 1 heard
Steller's Jay - 1
Raven - 2
Chestnut-backed Chickadee - 10
Red-breasted Nuthatch - 6
Brown Creeper - 1
Pacific Wren - 4
Golden-crowned Kinglet - 4
Robin - 1
Varied Thrush - 6
Junco - 10
Red Crossbill - 12
Evening Grosbeak - 30

Good Birding,

John Sullivan and Laura Johnson
Springfield, OR
