Subject: Allegheny River and County waterfowl
We checked the river at several places today and saw some interesting
birds. We noticed flocks of robins at several of our stops, most of which
were feeding on sunny slopes, with a high count of 57 at East Deer
Recreational Area. Highlights are listed below.

Sharpsburg Marina
Ring-necked Duck -3
Pied-billed Grebe -2

Blawnox
Goldeneye -1
Red-breasted Merganser -1

Mouth of Deer Creek
Horned Grebe -1
Red-winged Blackbird -at least 9
Grackle-1

Tarentum Bridge
Peregrine Falcon (1) chasing what I think was a Cooper's Hawk

East Deer Recreational Area
Wood Duck -9
Gadwall -1
Common Merganser -4
