During an 11:00am snow squall at the Ft Hunter boating access, 62 plus Tundra swans flew in over the river, coming from the southwest..
They landed in the middle of the Susquehanna River, on the west side of the Rockville RR Bridge, closer to the Rockville Bridge boat landing than to Ft. Hunter Park.
At 1:30pm, they were still present.
Last night, at an hour past sunset, under the almost full Worm moon, 2 large flocks of Tundra swans passed overhead, heading southwest along the Susquehanna River. Seems like these few decided to turn back due to the weather.
Perhaps they should have told the Robins, who despite a few wintering here this year, arrived during the snow in large numbers today.
