At midday yesterday, while waiting on the tarmac for my first plane ride with my pilot son, a kestrel flew in to perch on a series of posts in the big grassy triangle on the SW end of the airfield (42.466277, -71.297292). Size, shape, and behavior all unmistakably kestrel. Perched alternately on the tops of the various posts (with an occasional dive to the ground), facing a light wind, and visibly adjusting tail/wings for balance.
