March 2017 PROGRAM SCHEDULE
Winged Wonders Saturday, March 11 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Halibut Point State Park Halibut Point State Park along the Atlantic migratory path, is an excellent locale for birding. Harlequins, scoters, eiders, grebes, mergansers, loons, gannets and many more spend their winters on our shores. There is also a good possibility of seeing harbor seals. Some binoculars and a spotting scope will be provided but please bring these items if you are able to. Meet at: The Grout Pile scenic overlook at Halibut Point State Park, on Gott avenue in Rockport. All Programs are free and open to the public. All ages are welcome but children under 8 years of age may have difficulty using binoculars or a spotting scope because of their stage of cognitive development. An adult must accompany children. Birding programs are suitable for both beginners and experts. Please dress warmly; wear layers of clothing and sturdy, warm hiking boots or shoes, as well as a hat and gloves. For possible changes or cancellations to these programs please phone 978-937-2094 ext. 121 (changes may be made up to 1 hour before the start of a program). Rain and heavy snow cancels.
