A recent post indicated that in order to be eligible for the 2017 eBird challenge one has to submit 365 eligible checklists in 2017 but questioned whether it was required to submit one list each and every day or simply submit 365 in the year. I asked that question of the eBird community forum and received the following answer.
"It's 365 eligible checklists submitted by year's end. The goal is to have birders get in the habit of at least one daily checklist, but it wouldn't be fair if someone got sick, especially toward the end of the year, and missed one or more days. So, there is wiggle room and any missing eligible checklists can be made up, or you can simply get ahead in advance as insurance."
I plan to have greater than 365 eligible checklists submitted for 2017 but most of them will not be from Pennsylvania.
