Subject: [MASSBIRD] Bear Creek Sanctuary Walk, Sunday March 5
Despite the wind and the cold and the absence of Soheil, the weekly walk at
the Wheelabrator facility/Bear Creek Sanctuary did not disappoint. Hunters
were a highlight - Short-eared owl and Norther Harrier soaring by, kiting
American Kestrel, Sharp-shin terrorizing the feeders and a dizzying,
spectacular display of speed by a tag team of Peregrines chasing a
Killdeer. Eastern Meadowlark, snipe and Snow geese, too. Thank you to guide
and chaperone Geoff Wilson for a great tour. Report below.
