We went up the access road to Lock and Dam #3 this afternoon to check on the heron colony on Fourteen Mile Island. There were no herons at the site. We did see two flocks of Ring-necked ducks for a total of 21 birds, a Lesser Scaup, five Hooded Mergansers, four Common Mergansers, and a Pied-bill Grebe. It's nice to see some waterfowl on the river again.
