Subject: [SBB] Red-naped Sapsucker; Almaden Lake Park
The wintering Red-naped Sapsucker was still in his favorite Pepper tree near the Pavilion. I suspect it won't remain much longer this season. Also, in the same grove but closer to the parking lot were two Red-breasted Sapsuckers. This location is at the far south end of Winfield and there is free parking on the street to save you the $6 parking charge for the Winfield lot.

On the lake were a male and two female Common Mergansers. The island on the lake suffered from the storm and now from over-crowding by nesting herons and egrets.

Good Birding. Join an SCVAS Birdathon by registering online at and click on birding.
