Due to the expected massive cuts to the EPA, Al Gore has ramped up his 2006 initiative - The Climate Reality Project - to promote reasonable treatment of the environment.
In a few days leaders chosen from all over the country, are meeting in Denver to receive training which will enable them to promote a variety of approaches in their areas.
The leader who will represent our area is Dianne Scheper. She is a professor in the Johns Hopkins literature department. She has chosen to present 10 events over the next year. This is why she needs ideas from people like you who know of places and things that need protected.
Maybe the hot spots in Maryland's birding world? Why is it important to retain suitable habitat for birds, butterflies, insects, native plants. Effects of climate change on everything that lives on or around the Chesapeake Bay, etc.
Sorry this is so sketchy but in another week, when Dianne returns from her Denver training, we'll know more.
If you have an idea or/and would like more information about this project please get in touch with me. Dianne wants to hear from you!
