Social Information Influences Black-and-white Warbler Habitat Prospecting Behavior

Program Description:

An animal’s ability to select high quality habitat can affect individual survival as well as population-level dynamics, and many migratory birds face repeated habitat selection decisions with each season. Experiments were conducted to analyze the relative influence of personal and social information on habitat prospecting behavior of Black and white Warblers. This talk will explore those experiments and the resulting information.
