Subject: [Maine-birds] Nat Wheelwright talk at UNE--Tues, Feb 28
Nat Wheelwright, professor at Bowdoin College, is giving a talk Tuesday,
Feb 28 at noon on the University of New England's Biddeford Campus. The
talk will be in the Alfond Center for Health and Sciences, room 113. This
talk is jointly sponsored by the Departments of Environmental Studies and
Biology--it is free and open to the public.

Here is the title and a short blurb:

The inheritance of divorce in Savannah Sparrows

About half of the adult Savannah Sparrows that survive the winter and
return to breed on Kent Island, New Brunswick select new mates, even when
their previous mate is still alive. Using the techniques of quantitative
genetics, I explore whether the tendency to "divorce" is heritable.
