Observers: Alessandra Kite, Cindy Isenhoff, Corinne Allsop, Cramer,
David Wharton, Hugh Kent, Jaron Wilkinson, Kiah Jasper,
Kit McCann, Kory Renaud, Liz Kent, Mike Jaber,
Stephen Courtney

Visitors:
The tower was busy today with north winds attracting birders onto the
tower. No raptor was escaping the sights of our many counters - Alessandra,
Cindy, Corinne, Cramer, David, Hugh, Jaron, Kiah, Kit, Kory, Liz, Mike and
Stephen. Thanks for their efforts. It was nice to meet Karina, Agnes and
Amy from Guelph, Lisa and Heather from Cambridge, Loewe and everyone who
joined us on this chilly day!

Weather:
Finally we experienced a chilly November day with a high temp of 9C, cloudy
with almost no sun poking through and winds gusting from the Northwest.

Raptor Observations:
With the north-western winds we were hoping for more but still had a decent
turn out. Turkey Vultures (474) lead the totals once again. Red-tailed
(146) seem to be picking up steam. Golden Eagles (4) started up late
morning flying out towards the north. A nice light phase Rough-legged Hawk
also passed by to the north. Having American Kestrels (3) this late in year
was a nice surprise with close flights to the tower.

Non-raptor Observations:
Full list can be found at -https://ebird.org/checklist/S408761500

The cold weather has finally seemed to push out some species with Tundra
Swans (10) and our season's first Common Goldeneye (2). The Marsh had large
pockets of ducks sheltering from the wind; Ring-Necked (786), Gadwall (721)
and Green-Winged Teal (483). American Coots (224) have been approaching the
water around the tower, pushing out the poor Pied-Billed Grebes (16). A
pair of Common Ravens (2) were spotted far to north trying to blend in with
the buteos.

The tower's seasonal high count of White Tailed Deer (6) were spotted
grazing at the hunt club.

Predictions:
Tomorrow is looking warmer with sun and highs of 14C. Strong winds are
coming out of the southwest which is unfortunate but hopefully the sun will
make some thermals for the migrating raptors.
