I have had no access to the beach since my usual site for counting has been fenced off because of the construction of the new bathhouse and I was out of the country for most of October.Rain showers and the warm water of the lake made visibility limited at a distance. However, there were a few birds moving mostly to the west. Most birds, as expected, were scaup and Red-breasted Merganser Waterbirds recorded: Greater Scaup 3Lesser Scaup 30Scaup species 135Surf Scoter 3White-winged Scoter 19Common Merganser 3Red-breasted merganser 327Horned Grebe 1Common Loon 18Lonn species 3
