Subject: [Tweeters] Probable Plumbeous Vireo in Seattle
Hello Tweeters,

In the interests of alerting folks here about rare birds being discussed on
other platforms. A probable Plumbeous Vireo was seen today at Meadowbrook
Pond in Seattle. First found 11/4 by David Johnson and reported on Facebook
with uncertain ID, refound today by Ryan Merrill and seen by a number of
birders.

I say probable because this species can be very difficult to separate from
dull Cassin's Vireos. This individual appears quite gray with very little
or no yellow/green coloration, and does seem likely to be Plumbeous. If
accepted, it would be a first for Washington.

Updates are being posted on the King County RBA WhatsApp group. Last
sighting that I know of was at about 1:10 pm today in the northwest corner
of the park, but the bird has also been seen on the east edge and
definitely moves around.

Good birding,
Matt Dufort
