Observation start time: 08:45:00 Observation end time: 09:30:00 Total observation time: 0.75 hours
Official Counter: Kate McKay
Observers:
Visitors: One.
Weather: Summit socked in with mist upon arrival. Pleasant 55 degrees, with warm winds from the southwest. No sign of clearing and rain on its way, so the count ended early.
Raptor Observations: There were no raptors in sight (unsurprising with the lack of visibility). Since I can't talk about the raptors today, I'll talk about the raptors yesterday. Yesterday's count put us over the 17,000 milestone for the season. Yay! I'm happy to report that the 17,000th raptor was a Red-tailed Hawk, one of my personal favorites.
Non-raptor Observations: The only bird seen today was a chickadee. A raven croaked somewhere out in the mist, and a couple juncos called as they flew by. A Red Squirrel was heard chattering in the spruces away in the distance.
Predictions: Warm and rainy again tomorrow. There likely won't be a count. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Kate McKay (<northernjay444...>) Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration Observatory information may be found at: www.harriscenter.org
