Nebraska birders,

This is a revised version of my previous message. I've included the links
to my ebird lists and a little more about the lake south of the North
Platte sewage pond.

I couldn't resist chasing county birds in the North Platte area on
Wednesday, November 04. I asked Boni for directions and instructions on
finding birds at the North Platte sewage ponds. She graciously gave the
information needed to enter the area and find the birds. She even met me
there so that we could bird together for a while. My ebird checklist
number is https://ebird.org/checklist/S407976346. The Surf Scoter is a
new Lincoln County bird. We couldn't find the Long-tailed Duck.

Boni told me about a lake just south of the sewage pond where she saw
shorebirds earlier. The lake is just east of Paulson's Ready Mix. It's
not on Google Maps nor Nebraska Department of Roads maps. It must be
PRIVATE PROPERTY. There's a dead-end road. It looks like it's OK to park
at the end and look at the lake. I was thrilled to see so many Hooded
Mergansers. I also saw a few Greater Yellowlegs which was a new Lincoln
County bird for me. My ebird checklist number is
https://ebird.org/checklist/S408000061.

Boni also told me that she had seen Red-breasted Mergansers at Lake Maloney
yesterday. I could not find them on this day but it was mid-afternoon and
windy. I went back to the lake east of Paulson's to see if I had missed
anything. This time I added Long-billed Dowitchers and Wilson's Snipe. My
ebird checklist number is https://ebird.org/checklist/S408016277.

Many thanks to Boni helping me find the birds. My new total for Lincoln
County is 186.
