This morningat the Nob Hill Pond, there were ( 4 ) Eurasian Wigeons, three adult males and a female paired with a male. First arrival of Canvasbacks on the pond. Another arrival were ( 34 )Buffleheads on the bay off of the mouth of Steinberger Slough.  ( 5 ) Lesser Yellowlegs were with Greater Yellowlegs on the Ravenswood Salt Ponds. The number of LesserYellowlegs this fall have been low.  Leonie and I noted a late Northern Yellow Warbler in Redwood Shores. I was surprised to see ( 3 ) male Great-tailed Grackles in with aflock of blackbirds flying south while I was doing a morning skywatch from home in Redwood Shores. Yesterday, there was a Clay-colored Sparrow in with other sparrowsat the brussel sprouts field on the east side of Arroyo Leon Creek, the north side of Higgins Canyon Road in Half Moon Bay.  A White-throated Sparrow was also in thefield.
