Hello SF Birders,
Many of you have enjoyed birding at Pier 94 Wetland these last few decades. We have that little patch of wetland and all the birds it supports in SF because of the hard work of GGBA staff and countless hours of volunteer work.
We are undertaking a big project in the south side of the uplands to sheet mulch a large area that was cleared a few years back from an accidental fire. The sheet mulch will help us get ahead of the weeds and give a head start to coastal prairie plantings one year from now. We're already working with Literacy for Environmental Justice to grow plants and in Spring of 2028 we'll have a beautiful upland meadow full of sparrows, meadowlarks, and who-knows-what else!
But we need your help! Please join us. If you have a wheelbarrow or wagon please bring it, if not, that's fine too, come as you are.
