Starting November 2, 2026, the Bodie Island Light Station boardwalk and observation platform will be undergoing rehabilitation. The boardwalk and platform will be unavailable for about 120 days. The platform is the primary viewpoint for birding the Bodie Island Pond. Other birdable features such as Bodie Island Lighthouse Road and trails should remain open to birders.
