"Woke up this morning" to an eBird report of Red Crossbills at Napoli Park in Mission Viejo yesterday from Ted Keyel. I came over here with my dog Hazel and walked the perimeter of the park where the pines primarily are. I examined all the pines and did not see any crossbills but when I was nearly around the edge of the park in its northwest corner (along the school fence) I had a single Red Crossbill fly overhead from southeast to northwest calling. It continued past me and out over Felipe.
