Official Counter: Kate McKay
Observers: Annamarie Saenger, Chuck Carlson, Jim McCoy, Robin Feustel
Visitors: 104. Thanks to Pat & Brian for bringing beautiful bird pictures and sharing them with visitors!
Weather: Partly sunny with decreasing haze. Stiff winds from the W/WNW, often over 20 mph. Temps starting at 49, rising to 54, and then dropping to 46 degrees.
Raptor Observations: Just a handful of birds moving throughout the day. The last migrant was a beautiful adult sharpie coming in close to investigate Gina, and the last raptor was a local Merlin zooming around at remarkable speed.
Non-raptor Observations: Songbird highlights included one Yellow-rumped Warbler foraging in the birch trees and 36 ravens having fun in the breeze. Porcupine on the ground nearby, and winter firefly on the rocks. Many migrating oak leaves.
Predictions: Colder tomorrow with winds from the northwest. There's a good chance there'll be more birds than today. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Kate McKay (<northernjay444...>) Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration Observatory information may be found at: www.harriscenter.org
