Official Counter: Chuck Root, Dave Eberly
Observers: Chuck Root, Craig Hedlund
Weather: Variable clouds in the morning gave way to mostly clear skies in the afternoon.. Southerly winds very light. Temperatures rose to the upper 60sF
Raptor Observations: Of our 12 migrants counted ten were Turkey Vultures. A pair of high flying adult bald eagles was seen circling and then flew off toward the reservoir. An hour or so later a pair was seen flying SE toward the river or JHNWR. Could have been the same pair. One migrating immature "white belly" eagle was also spotted.
The usual local locals were around. Our resident Merlin was not spotted.
Non-raptor Observations:
Predictions: Another mostly clear day. Temperatures rising to the 70s. Winds will switch to NW in the morning 5-15 mph. Might push some migrants. ======================================================================== Report submitted by David Eberly (<david.eberly...>) Rose Tree Park information may be found at: bcdelco.org/activities/rose-tree-park-hawkwatch/
