I just couldn't resist making the drive to Sherwood Island State Park in Westport this afternoon to see the Vermilion Flycatcher. The bird was incredibly cooperative, and dozens of birders were there enjoying him. I learned that it was Jo Fasciolo who found the bird.
If the bird sticks around, I encourage anyone to try for it!

It was just reported on the GroupMe RBA that Joe Pescatore, together with Joe and Adam Fasciolo, have discovered a VERMILLION FLYCATCHER at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.
The bird is reportedly juvenile male and near the model airplane field, and it is being cooperative.
I wanted to pass this along to our CT Birds members who are not on the GroupMe app.
