Morning, birders!
The votes are in! And the winner of the El Monte Co. Park Sound Contest, is, by a margin of 8-3, a "large barking dog" (with four voters "undecided"). Only Ter took a stab at identifying the sound to breed, wagering it was "some kind of hound". Extra credit for Ter! And I'm changing my undecided vote to "dog" as well :)
I have to say, it has been fun hearing from so many of you - thanks for chiming in! I'll correct the observation comments on my soundscape recording. And here's the checklist link again for the curious: https://ebird.org/atlascalifornia/checklist/S404796353
I will now return you to your regularly scheduled programming!

Hahaha, OK, a consensus is rolling in via private (very thoughtful of you!) emails. I won't say quite yet so the rest of you have a chance at a guess or a chuckle at my expense.
Thanks, everybody!
