Not many birds again, but still the best day so far this week, and I enjoyed close views of sharpies and today's young red-shouldered. An osprey was a nice surprise for the final bird of the day. I would guess sometime soon we'll see the last one of the season, if not this one. Friday is looking promising if the forecast holds.
Non-raptor Observations: Light robin migration early in the day. Purple finches, juncos, and yellow-rumps hanging around too, but the multiple brown creepers on the way up and down were my favorites. I would hear them singing all the time when I was working out at Black Moshannon SP.
Predictions: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Light south wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Lehigh Gap Nature Center (<mail...>) Bake Oven Knob information may be found at: www.lgnc.org
