Red Crossbill (Loxia curvirostra) (35) CONFIRMED
- Reported Oct 26, 2026 12:11 by David Blue
- UCSB North Campus Open Space (formerly Ocean Meadows Golf Course), Santa Barbara, California

- Comments: "Thanks to Mark Holmgren for pointing out the Red Crossbills he had discovered earlier in the “distressed”Aleppo Pine just west of Whittier Pond. At that time at least two of the original seven birds remained, but then a few minutes later a flock of at least 35 suddenly appeared calling as they circled overhead before flying south.
This pine tree was at (34.4217824, -119.8740631) and we observed the crossbills from the main trail just south of there."
