Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica) (1)
- Reported Oct 25, 2026 12:17 by Mario Borunda
- Isla Vista Beach (between Devereux Beach and Goleta Point), Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.8624379&<ll...>,-119.8624379 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S405503602 - Media: 4 Photos
- Comments: "Took the stairs to the beach at the end of El Embarcadero and headed north. Spotted a group of birds about 100 yards up. The bar-tailed godwit was foraging with a small group of marbled godwits. First distinction was the white supercilium. As we followed the group up the beach its smaller size and lighter color (specifically, white belly and white under tail coverts & sides) became more apparent. Overall a more grayish bird lacking the reddish & gold tones of the marbled godwit. Photos to be added."
