Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Kate McKay

Observers: Dr. Jonathan Atwood, Glen Chretien, Mike Gebo,
Nathan French, Polly Pattison, Tom Momeyer

Visitors:
238. Nice to see Silas, David, Sam, and Jim.

Weather:
Warm and sunny with no clouds. Mt. Washington in view all day. Slight
breeze from the west. Temps starting at 43 and ending at 56 degrees.

Raptor Observations:
Like yesterday, the first bird was a harrier during 11 o'clock and the most
birds came by during 1 o'clock, but we fell short of tying with yesterday
and the day before's count. A paraglider and hot air balloon seen during
the last hour didn't help us reach 21 because they weren't migrating.
Highlights included a beautiful adult goshawk flying through the valley and
five Black Vultures wandering northwards (new high count from Pack).

Non-raptor Observations:
A Ruby-crowned Kinglet flitted about near the platform, and a flock of six
White-winged Crossbills flew over!

Lots of insects around including Western Conifer Seed Bugs, Clouded
Sulphur, Autumn Meadowhawk, Asian Lady Beetle, Pine Tree Spur-throat
Grasshoppers, Punctated Ground Crab Spider, jumping spiders, wasps, and
green lacewing.

Predictions:
Looks like another pleasant day tomorrow.
