A Red-throated Loon has been spotted at Lock 7 on the Mohawk River, last seen shortly after noon today, upstream of the dam. Appeared to be in nonbreeding adult plumage, with slate-gray upperparts and pale white underparts. Mostly midriver, gradually moving upstream toward the Ferry Road side.
Quick shout-out to Lindsey and the 8 o’clock Saturday bird walk for getting some early eyes on the bird and putting the word out. Always appreciated!
