Subject: [sd-birds] Northern Saw-whet Owls seem to be on the move through Eastern SD
Found one this morning in Codington County near the tree nursery north of Lake Kampeska after the thunderstorms moved through, probably the fastest I've found an owl after starting my search for the day haha. These guys like to roost in small cedar trees close to the trunk of the tree, near bodies of water like ponds and rivers so it would be worth checking areas like that out right now for them as they migrate through the area and into the winter months.
