Observation start time: 08:00:00 Observation end time: 16:00:00 Total observation time: 8 hours
Official Counter: Kate McKay
Observers: Tom Momeyer
Visitors: 195 including some school kids who flat-out refused to believe that a flyover red-tail wasn't a Golden Eagle.
Weather: Mostly sunny with a few high clouds. Windy at times, mostly from the north or northeast. Temps starting at 42 and ending at 52 degrees.
Raptor Observations: The first bird of the day was a beautiful "gray ghost" male harrier flying through the valley. Nice mix of species on the move, including one goshawk, two Peregrines, and three kestrels.
Non-raptor Observations: The resident ravens put on a show, and a few of the other usual suspects were around.
Predictions: Slightly colder tomorrow, with more sunshine and northeast winds. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Kate McKay (<northernjay444...>) Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration Observatory information may be found at: www.harriscenter.org
