Folks,
Here is the line listing of the taxa changes on the 67th Supplement that will affect the current NC and SC bird lists, as shown on the CBC Bird Records tab, "List of the birds of the Carolinas". The bold scientific name and the English/Common name that follows is copied directly from the AOS checklist. The text after the period are my comments for what should be edited on the CBC website and Birds of NC website. These are in the correct taxonomic sequence on the AOS Checklist. -------------
*Numenius phaeopus* Eurasian Whimbrel. Change this on the NC list only, NC Subspecies List
*Numenius hudsonicus* Hudsonian Whimbrel. Formerly named as *Numenius phaeopus* Whimbrel
*Tringa inornata* Prairie Willet. Add to the list; new taxon
*Tringa semipalmata* Saltmarsh Willet. Formerly named as *Tringa semipalmata* Willet
*Pterodroma deserta* Desertas Petrel. Formerly named as *Pterodroma feae *Fea's Petrel
*Ardea egretta* American Egret. Formerly named as *Ardea* *alba *Great Egret
*Nannus hiemalis* Winter Wren. Formerly named as *Troglodytes hiemalis* Winter Wren
*Cistothorus palustris* Eastern Marsh-Wren. Formerly named as *Cistothorus palustris* Marsh Wren
*Setophaga aestiva* Yellow Warbler. Formerly named as *Setophaga petechia* Yellow Warbler
*Myioborus pictus* Painted Whitestart. Formerly named as *Myioborus pictus* Painted Redstart

The 67th also has a summary of the linear sequence of species in genera in the Sittidae (nuthatches), Certhiidae (creepers), Poliptilidae (gnatcatchers), and Troglodytidae (wrens). I am not going to check to see if the sequence of the species in that list differs from what we currently show on the website. We want to get the revised species names and listing correct, at least first.
If anyone sees any omissions from the list above, or corrections, let us know.
