Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Mangrove Warbler: request for documentation
San Diego birders,

With the recent elevation of Mangrove Warbler to species status by the AOS<https://americanornithology.org/split-decisions-with-a-first-for-guatemala-67th-supplement-checklist-of-north-american-birds-publishes/>, the CBRC will be reviewing records of this species in California, including the one that wintered in San Diego, 13 Jan - 27 Mar 2009. The committee would appreciate submissions of any documentation you might have of this bird: https://www.californiabirds.org/report_sighting.html.

Thank you,
Tom

Thomas A. Benson
Secretary, California Bird Records Committee

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://sandiegofieldornithologists.org/san-diego-county-avian-records-database/.
