Observers:
Visitors: About 30 visitors today, mostly a group of middle schoolers led by Mr. Byer again. A really great group that was super excited by wooly bears and stick insects in the absence of birds.
Weather: Clear all day, light north wind in the morning that became very still within a hours. 39-62 degrees F.
Raptor Observations: Very little movement today, probably due to the lack of much wind. Todays field trip kids were getting sick of only seeing turkey vultures, when as they were lining up to leave two black vultures made very close loops overhead. I havent seen middle schoolers cheer that hard since my last day of 8th grade.
Non-raptor Observations: PINE SISKIN flyover, plus a flock of LESSER SCAUP that I initially thought were gadwall!
Predictions: Clear, with a high of 68 and north wind 5-10 mph. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Lehigh Gap Nature Center (<mail...>) Bake Oven Knob information may be found at: www.lgnc.org
