Subject: [cobirds] Western Gull & two longspur species, Dillon Reservoir, Summit
Hi all,

I made a quick trip up to Summit County yesterday and found Dillon
Reservoir to be exceptionally birdy. The Blue River Inlet (PUSA spot) was
especially good, featuring a Lesser Black-backed Gull, a WESTERN GULL
(presumably the Chaffee County bird that's now relocated), and several
THICK-BILLED LONGSPURS and CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPURS on the exposed
lakebed. These appear to be the first longspur reports of any species from
Summit County, but the habitat is certainly excellent right now.

Documentation here: eBird Checklist - 17 Oct 2026 - Dillon Reservoir--Blue
River Inlet area - 16 species (+1 other taxa)

Good birding,
Jack Bushong
