Visitors:
Huge thanks to our counters: Mike , Kiah, Jaron, Chad, Karen, Alessandra,
Daniel, Michael and Wade. Was nice to meet Taylor K, Sandra, Leni and the
large number of people who visited the tower during HawktoberFest!
Hopefully everyone enjoyed the spectacle of hawk migration.

Weather:
A chilly morning turned into a beautiful crisp autumn day with sunny skies,
southwestern winds and a high temperature of 18c

Raptor Observations:
Turkey Vultures (8798) had another great day streaming across the clear
sky. A Golden Eagle gave us a surprise as it crossed far to the north at
the last hour of the day. Can we get another tomorrow for 3 in the row?
Sharp-shinned (224) and Red Tailed (108) filled the gaps between the Turkey
Vulture flights. Northern Harriers (24) gave us a good showing of a few
Gray Ghosts.

Non-raptor Observations:
The marsh is starting to fill up with 10 duck species including large
numbers of Northern Pintail (190), Gadwall (350) and American Wigeon (98).
First noticeable movement of Horned Lark (35), American Pipit (43) and Pine
Siskin (23). 5 Warbler species are still hanging around with,
Orange-Crowned, Nashville, Palm, Blackpoll (3) and a large flock of
Yellow-Rumped (103). A very round raccoon was spotted in the marsh by an
excited Michael!

Complete list can be found at https://ebird.org/checklist/S403550949

Predictions:
Weather looks to be very similar to today. Sunny, low southwestern winds
and a high of 18C. We can hope expect similar movements in Raptors.
Fingers crossed we get another Golden Eagle day for 3 in a row.
