Hi Birders,
We have never encountered so many Horned Larks that seemed indifferent to people. Another birder directed me to the corral area below SV parking. There were 4 Horned Larks within 30 feet of the fence. Later we walked the Aquila Loop and saw two more at the entrance. These let me get within 15 feet for photos. All were busy feeding.
We also had a nice close fly-by of a mature Golden Eagle.
Do not disclose information that identifies the location of nesting birds of any species, to minimize stress on the nesting birds and the risk of vandalism or abuse.
