I searched this area and surrounding parts of the park this morning starting about 9:15 but did not turn it up. Updates would be appreciated. There were lots of different birds, (sparrows, pipits, Yellow-rumps, Kildeer) foraging in the area where the Longspur was reported.
I did find a Tennessee Warbler in the riparian area today. In fact, this one was easy! I spotted it in a low hanging branch of a cottonwood tree as I pulled into my parking spot in the lot off Santa Felicia Drive. All I had to do was turn off the engine and watch it for several minutes. There was an Orange-crowned Waarbler just above it, making for nice direct comparisons.

The Longspur continued at Girsh on Saturday morning despite nearly all the playing fields being used by kids and the presence of parents watching from the side lines. It was at the location reported previously approx. 34.425769, -119.873056, but flew up into a nearby Sycamore tree when disturbed. It was last reported around 1 pm.
