Subject: [ia-bird] Not a sighting, just a tip for beginning birders
This photo tells what staying in the car or using the car door for a blind
does. The birds had no idea I was there. If I had been out of the car I
would have scared them long before they walked right in front of me. We can
get by without scaring some birds such as Warblers but many birds at
wetlands will be gone the second you step out of the car limiting what
other birders can see of a good find. Some hawks the second you stop the
car.
Many times you can slow roll in and slow roll out and the birds will be
where they started.
