Observation start time: 08:30:00 Observation end time: 13:00:00 Total observation time: 4.5 hours
Official Counter: Diane Stewart
Observers:
Visitors: Quite a few leaf peepers today.
Weather: Cold and windy all morning making winter clothing a necessity. Winds out of the N all morning which is not good for Jack's.
Raptor Observations: So much activity in the first 30 minutes with 3 large groups of TV moving through both valleys. The first group came out of the east, passing behind the tower, and then following the line over Big Valley. The second and third groups were over the Ferguson Valley side and moved south from that side. There were groups of 38, 31, and 33. While not the raptors I would have liked to see, nonetheless, it was amazing watching them all and really made the day for me. Local RT not counted. Local TV not counted.
Non-raptor Observations: Water fowl were on the move today. 45 Canadian Geese in one formation. A string of 38 Canadian Geese. Another group of 12 geese that did not appear to be Canadian but since I am no expert, I can explain that the neck and head were totally white with a a dark body including the wings and tails. 3 Loons. 9 unidentified water fowl in formation. A murder of 29 crows. Local ravens. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Darrell Smith (<oleagleye...>)
