14 new species were added in September, a little less than average for the month, but enough to set a new record, and marks the first time we have ever exceeded 300 species by the end of September. The new species were Kentucky Warbler, Northern Waterthrush, Nazca Booby, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Blackpoll Warbler, Black-vented Shearwater, Clark's Nutcracker, Lucy's Warbler, Philadelphia Vireo, Lark Bunting, Long-billed Dowitcher, Arctic Tern ,Black Storm-Petrel and Ferruginous Hawk. This brought us to 302 species - setting another record for species through the end of September. You can see the complete list at https://sfbirds.net/2026-city-cumulative
